McLaren has just revealed its pricing scheme for the new 650S, which it will be selling in North America as both a Coupe and a Spider.

The cars will be delivered via the 15-strong dealer network, which is concentrates 13 retail locations in the US and 2 in Canada, but only after it makes its official debut at the New York Auto Show later this month.

US buyers will be asked to pay an MSRP of $265,500 for the hardtop model and $280,225 for the convertible, while in Canada, pricing is CAD $287,000 and CAD $305,500 respectively.

That makes the 650S around $25,000 more expensive than the 12C, but its performance figures are better, so it’s hard to justify buying the lesser powered car. It will most likely be phased out completely, at which point McLaren will replace it with the baby P13, the future stepping stone into the Woking-based manufacturer’s range.
