Even with all that camouflage covering its body, there’s no way you can miss the extensive aero parts fitted on the Jaguar F-Type convertible prototype that our spy photographers nabbed testing at the Nürburgring track.
It’s even more aggressive in appearance than last year’s Project 7 Concept based on the F-Type Convertible, with a protruding front lip spoiler, a bigger rear spoiler, a modified rear diffuser and chunky wheels outfitted with large brakes.
Jaguar officials have admitted that they are looking to add more versions to the F-Type series, including the rumored R-S (or RS) and R-S GT that would sit atop the current “R” edition. The latter is offered only on the coupe and features a 542hp (550PS) 5.0-liter supercharged V8 running the standard sprint to 100km/h (62mph) in 4.0 seconds and topping out at 299km/h (186 mph).
We can’t be sure which of the two new editions this tester may be previewing, but suffice it to say, besides the aero and chassis tweaks, it will have more power than the F-Type R, possibly approaching the 600hp mark.
