Despite premiering at the 2013 Dubai motor show, Lebanon’s W Motors Lykan Hypersport is still a pretty mysterous car that we don’t get to see a lot of. It’s an odd one, with its absurd price tag and precious stones and metals incorportated in its construction, but it does promiese to also be very fast and use an unusual engine for this type of car (770 horse twin-turbo 3.7-liter flat-six) that has all the makings of a great sounding unit.
Now, the Lykan has touched down on European soil, and the wraps came off at the 2014 Top Marques Monaco venue, where it will be kept on display until April 20.
The car you see below is a pre-production model, but even so, and in spite of the company’s sheer lack of experience, it really does look like a professionally designed, built and engineered supercar with particularly aggressive design; at the front it looks like a variant of the McLaren P1, but one that was designed around a triangles motif (and diamonds in the lights…).
Performance numbers remain unchanged from the last time we heard of it: 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 245 mph (395 km/h).
According to the company, those who do purchase one of these cars will also be offered a Cyrus Klepcy watch, which itself costs $200,000 or €149,000. The expected price tag for the entire car will reportedly be around $2.5 million or €1.8 million.
