While driving digital interpretations of 1970s Formula One is nothing new, as there have been a series of games catering to this need both officially and through user created mods, most are quite old now and don’t take full advantage of the latest technological improvements.
Assetto Corsa, a new title that’s still in the works, will scratch the ‘70s F1 itch with a series of cars, the latest of which is the 1975 Ferrari 312T, driven by Niki Lauda.
Only just added to the work in progress game, the car was immediately driven / tested by a series of YouTubers who uploaded their exploits (scroll down to see their videos).
The car sounds very nice and looks it too. However, upon taking a closer look, there’s definitely something wrong with the way the environment is reflected off of the its body; it seems to be overly-reflective and not completely accurate looking for the kind of finish these cars had.
All cars added into the game also added to the cars list located on the game’s official site.
