What Peugeot calls the new Boxer is actually a deep facelift with some mechanical/structural/technological improvements over the previous generation. Basically the same as before, it now features the new brand family face, a strengthened body structure and a redesigned front scuttle to name the most important of changes.

The engine range has been left untouched, and it still consists of a 2.2-liter diesel with either 110, 130 or 150 horses, as well as a 3.0-liter unit called HDi 180. Start-stop is offered on the smaller displacement power plant and promises

The French automaker promises that the Boxer is both more refined and more durable than before, boasting an average drop of 5 g/km CO2.

Inside, “the dashboard receives a new control panel with a new range of audio systems, while the new black ‘Darko’ cloth punctuated with red and grey is adopted for the seats, with the brown Achille trim as an option.”

Probably the biggest additions are those on the tech front. The Boxer can now be specced with digital radio, Bluetooth and even a touchscreen infotainment system complete with in-built sat-nav.

Expect to see it in Peugeot’s commercial vehicle showrooms before the first half of 2014 is up.
