If you like racing simulators then the upcoming multi-platform title Project CARS is definitely close to the top of your list. The game has been steadily progressing over the last two years, and what we’ve been seeing of it as of late has been quite appetite whetting – the latest trailer keeps the hype going and also makes the game’s November 2014 debut official.
From what we see so far, the cars look great and are very detailed, featuring moving mechanical parts, the track environments are up there with the best the genre currently has to offer.
Developer Slightly Mad Studios wants Project CARS to be “the most authentic, beautiful, intense, and technically-advanced racing game on the planet.”
Watching the trailers and looking through the screenshots, it’s clear that they are clearly aiming pretty high with the game, but it always boils down to the gameplay (car control, handling realism, sense of speed) in this sector of the industry; that’s where it needs to make sure it delivers and most others fail.
