The main question about Acura’s 2015 TLX world premiere at the New York Auto Show today at 1:50 PM EST is how close or how far the production car will be to the concept model displayed at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year.
You’ll be able to watch the unveiling live in the first video below in a few moments, but here’s what we learned just the other day about the available powertrains in North America: the TLX will offer two engines, a 2.4-liter inline four producing 206hp and 182 lb-ft matched to an 8sp dual-clutch automatic, and a 3.5-liter V6 delivering 290hp and 267 lb-ft connected to a 9-speed auto.
Both engines will come as standard with front-wheel drive, while the bigger V6 will offer Acura’s next-generation Super-Handling All Wheel Drive system with a new torque-vectoring control logic, said to be 25-percent lighter, as an option.
The TLX has been created to substitute both the TL and TSX sedans that will be phased out this year.
Until the live stream begins, you can check out three latest advertising spots for the TLX in which the prototype model is featured.
