Despite causing outrage after sounding like he used a no-no noun (see low-quality video below) for which he endured heavy public bashing, with some even demanding he be left without a Top Gear job, Jeremy Clarkson’s fortunes seem to have taken a turn for the merrier.

Apparently, the 54 year-old host will be given a three year contract extension by the BBC, after being forced to apologize and only after the intervention of Tony Hall, the Director-General of the broadcasting corporation.

This means we’ll still get the current format/style of Top Gear until 2018, as The Telegraph reports that along with Clarkson, the other two co-hosts are also on the final stretch of signing three-year extensions too.

You can imagine just what a slow-mo uppercut to the chin it would have been for Top Gear UK if Jeremy was no longer a part of the show. Like him or hate him, it’s his often unsavory style of direct humor that played a major role in making the show as popular as it is now when it boasts hundreds of millions of viewers around the world

Some sources say he’s expected remuneration will hover around the £1 million per year mark, along with an extra £3-million from the BBC Worldwide’s Top Gear merchandise and global rights.
