Since a replacement for the GLK that will be based on the underpinnings of the new W205 C-Class is tipped for an introduction late next year, there’s no way Mercedes would spend any money or time on an AMG version of its current compact SUV, but there’s no harm done in dreaming one up on Photoshop, is there now…
The imaginary render of the GLK 63/55 AMG was made by Autoprojecoes with the SUV adopting a similar styling feel to the ML 63 AMG with some light changes on the outside like the bigger alloy wheels and reworked front bumper, and the appropriate detailing inside with sport seats and carbon fiber trims.
Had this car been made, it would have likely been powered by one of Benz’s naturally-breathing V8’s, like the C63 AMG’s 451hp 6.2-liter V8 or the SLK55 AMG’s 415hp 5.5-liter V8.
If you’re curious about the future, last we heard, Mercedes said it had no plans to develop an AMG version for the next GLK, but you never know…
