You may or may not approve of lane splitting, but the truth is, most motorcyclists do it anyway. When done at a red light, at low speed and with extra care, the only risk besides casual scratches is that some drivers may become frustrated.

However, some may even see it as a win-win situation, as by lane splitting at red light or in heavy traffic the motorcycle gets to be in a place where being rear ended is less likely, while reducing congestion by freeing up the space that it would otherwise occupy if it were to wait behind a car.

Still, when a motorcyclist speeds his or her way between stationary cars in a traffic jam, it is an accident waiting to happen. That’s exactly what you are about to see in the following video.

Let’s just hope that the accident, which appears to have happened in Russia, didn’t have severe consequences for the motorcyclist.
