You can probably kiss Josh Byrnes’ more Corvette/sports car-like Batmobile proposal goodbye, because Batman vs. Superman director Zac Snyder has just tweeted a teaser picture of the next Batmobile and it looks like it will continue to have that industrial / workhorse feel of the Tumbler from the Dark Knight franchise.
We’ll partially agree with the folks from Jalopnik who also found the shape reminding them of previous Batmobiles, but instead of the Tim Burton rides from Batman and Batman Returns, we’re thinking more of the cars featured in the (forgettable) Joel Schumacher Batman Forever and Batman & Robin movies.
Older rumors had GM involved in the new Batmobile project, but that’s something we’ve yet to hear from an official source.
The Batman vs. Superman movie is scheduled for a cinematic release in May of 2016.
