No one will blame you if you pause the following security camera video at the 11-second mark, when the rider of the neon-green motorcycle shoots into the black SUV at a Missouri intersection, but then you will miss what happened next.
As amazing as it sounds, 20-year-old Britt Hamilton who was riding the bike got up and walked away! “I hit, and then went numb for a second. Then I started to feel pain,” Hamilton told KCTV.
The young man, who was riding his bike just in front of his fiancée, Brittany Pennington, and their 10-month-old girl who were in a car behind, was rushed to the hospital, but aside from some minor injuries, he was fine.
“My wrist is swollen. My lip is messed up a little bit. I got a little knot on my leg,” Hamilton said. “I’m surprised I didn’t get a broken bone or something.”
According to Excelsior Springs police, the driver who stopped at the intersection had a learner’s permit. Hamilton said he had a green light when he crossed paths with the vehicle. “I had a green light. I guess she got scared and slammed on the brakes,” he said.
This episode reminded us of a similar incident from across the pond and specifically, Greece, from 2004, which had gone viral at the time. See both after the jump.
