Ferrari’s entry-level model, the California, has received a very comprehensive facelift that has changed not only its appearance, but also its engine, gearbox and even its name.
As Ferrari’s first turbocharged road car since the F40, the most obvious question is how the engine feels like, and in this respect the California T seems to have nailed it, according to initial reviews.
Autocar’s Matt Prior drove the car on the hills around the Italian city of Siena and found that there is not a lot of turbo lag present and that the power delivery is progressive – Ferrari’s intention being to make it feel like a naturally-aspirated engine.
He also described the revised chassis as nicely balanced and providing a good ride but, more importantly, the Ferrari California T is seen a huge improvement over the California, which is what matters the most for its prospecting customers.
