If Romania is Dacia’s main production base, France is its biggest sales market. In less than nine years since the Dacia Logan launched in France, 600,000 customers were convinced by its vehicles. Dacia recently sold the 600,000th vehicle in France, a Sandero, a model that holds the biggest market share among Dacia vehicles in France.
To date, more than 232,000 Sanderos, 150,000 Dusters, 100,000 Logan MCVs and 57,000 Logan sedans have been sold in France since the various models were launched. Renault’s Dacia brand launched in France in June 2005 with the first-generation Logan sedan, a back to basics model that proposed a new way to go motoring.
Since then, Dacia’s lineup for the French market has increased significantly to include seven models in 2014: Logan, Logan MCV, Sandero, Duster, Lodgy, Dokker and Dokker Van. This range is currently the youngest in Europe. In 2013, the Romanian brand climbed to fifth position in the French market, despite the fact that it appeals almost exclusively to individual car buyers.
As of the end of April 2014, Dacia ranked fourth in year-to-date sales to individuals in France, with Sandero being the best-selling car to retail customers in the country.
