The recently refreshed Nissan GT-R remains one of the fastest production cars on sale today and one of the most reasonably-priced supercars. But now it has to face (some) competition from the V8-powered Jaguar F-Type R Coupe which delivers exactly the same output of 542 hp (550PS) as the Japanese car.

Autocar’s Steve Sutcliffe went for a drive in the two coupes to find out which one is more fun to drive and faster through the magazine’s favorite handling course. Judging from the two cars’ philosophies, finding an answer to the aforementioned question should be easy.

While the Nissan sources its power from a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6, which sends power to all four wheels, the F-Type R is powered by a naturally-aspirated supercharged 5.0-liter V8 which sends power to the rear wheels. Taking these details into account, the GT-R’s better traction should make it the faster car, while the Jaguar’s RWD setup and great V8 soundtrack should make it more fun to drive.

The only way to find out if these assumptions are true is to watch the video review posted below.
