Porsche deliveries increased by six percent from January to May 2014 compared to the same period of the previous year, with the sports car manufacturer handing over just under 71,500 new cars to customers worldwide. In May alone, Porsche sold more than 16,500 vehicles, up 10 percent compared to May 2013.

Porsche has posted higher sales figures in all sales regions so far this year. In Europe, the carmaker achieved a growth of 10 percent with just fewer than 24,000 sold vehicles. The United States, Porsche’s biggest single market, accounted for nearly 19,000 sales, up 7 percent compared to the first five months of 2013.

The model with the biggest growth (+20 percent) was the Panamera, with deliveries worldwide reaching 11,000 units. In May 2014 alone, Porsche increased its deliveries of the sports sedan by 35 percent, to just under 2,000 new cars.

Further growth is expected when the Macan will reach all global markets by the end of this year. Already available in Germany, the Porsche Macan compact SUV draws new customers to the Porsche brand. The carmaker says around 60 percent of the Macan customers in Germany have ordered a Porsche for the first time.
