While primarily held in France, the famed ‘Tour de France’ cycling race occasionally goes through nearby countries, with this year’s event that takes place from July 5 to 27, including a number of UK stages. With Skoda being a sponsor of the race, the Czech carmaker created a trio of special edition models for Britain.
The Skoda Yeti, Octavia and Superb Tour de France (TdF) limited editions all feature ‘le Tour de France’ badging, waterproof seat covers and bike wheel bags plus additional extras, while all customers will get a centenary edition of the Rouleur Tour de France book and a competition entry to win a ‘VIP Tour de France experience’.
Each car will be available in exactly 198 units, which is the number of cyclists entered into this year’s race, and all will be available in either Red, White or Blue colors that represent both the UK and France.
The Yeti TdF Edition is based on the Outdoor SE 2.0-litre TDI 140PS 4×4 adding an Amundsen satellite navigation system with DAB digital radio, Keyless Entry and Start System, floor mats and an internal bike rack, with OTR pricing set at £23,490.
For £24,290, you can get the Octavia TdF based on the Estate SE 2.0-litre TDI 150PS 4×4 model with the same options as the Yeti special edition, with the addition of roof bars and a roof-mounted bike carrier instead of an internal system.
Finally, the Superb TdF is priced at £28,490 and it builds on the Estate Outdoor 2.0-litre TDI 140PS 4×4 featuring the same enhancements as the Yeti, plus a space saver spare wheel.
