BMW‘s new baby drop top model is nearing its unveiling date later this summer, prior to a world premiere at the Paris Motor Show in October. In these spy photos, we see how the 2-Series Convertible looks like with its retractable fabric roof tucked away between the rear seats and the boot.
The four-seater convertible model’s range will largely carry over from the 2-Series Coupe and include the 240hp 4-cylinder turbo 228i and 228xi (all-wheel drive), and the 320hp 6-cylinder turbo M235i (pictured here).
Europe, and possibly other markets around the world, will get diesel variants too, such as the 220d with a 2.0-liter four rated at 181hp (184PS), along with a base 220i petrol delivering the same output.
As with all BMW convertibles, the open-top 2-Series will carry a premium over the coupe – think something in the region of 10 to 15 percent.
