Still over a year away from being officially unveiled, the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet (A205) will be the first ever C-Class with a drop-top, so Mercedes-Benz has plenty of reasons to keep its pre-production prototypes under wraps until the very last minute before launch.
The most optimistic reports suggest that the C-Class Cabrio (A205) may be unveiled just months after the upcoming C-Class Coupe (C205), which would put both models’ launches somewhere at the end of 2015.
While the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe hasn’t been spied yet, its drop-top brother already has a number of camouflaged pre-production prototypes running around with their soft-top hidden from view.
Watching spy photos and trying to distinguish some of the details under all that body armor is one thing, but having a look at bits and pieces from the actual production car is another.
The Germans from the MB Passion Mercedes-Benz blog recently did just that, and if you are anywhere near Stuttgart and/or the Mercedes-Benz Museum, you can too, apparently.
What you are seeing in the adjacent photos is a pre-production C-Class Cabriolet interior, which may or may not be final, especially since we did find a glitch in the photos taken by MB-Passion.
If you look closely, the seats are clearly designed for a two-door vehicle, while the roof up/down and the AirCap buttons are also very much visible on the center console. On the other hand, the door panel length seems to be identical to that of the current C-Class Sedan.
Either way, in case anyone needed yet another piece of evidence that the first ever Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet is coming, here it is.
