The Mini Paceman received its first facelift in spring this year and now the UK-based automaker is gearing up for the model’s July 2014 launch with a huge photo gallery of the crossover, which gets design, equipment and technical upgrades.
In terms of styling, Mini has added a revised structure of the hexagonal radiator grille, new standard and optionally available light alloy wheels with reduced weight and optimized aerodynamic properties, as well as new exterior paint colors Jungle Green metallic and Midnight Grey metallic.
On the inside, the Paceman gets dark dials for road speed and engine speed display, newly designed chrome applications for the ventilation controls and new standard features such as the Mini Center Rail storage system and sports seats for driver and front passenger.
The Mini Paceman continues with the same engines, two petrol and two diesel units, each with four cylinders. The Mini John Cooper Works Paceman features a 218 PS (215 hp) turbocharged engine and a standard ALL4 AWD system, while the Mini Cooper S Paceman sees its output increased by 5 PS to 190 PS (188 hp). All engines are mated to a standard 6-speed manual gearbox, while a 6-speed automatic is an option. All models get a sports chassis as standard, as well as the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC).
The list of optional extras now includes new LED fog lamps with daytime driving lights, LED parking lights, xenon headlamps and adaptive turning light, comfort access, glass push/tilt roof, automatic air conditioning and a removable tow hitch with a trailer load of up to 1,200kg. There’s also a Mini navigation system, Sport Button, sports leather steering wheel with shift paddles for automatic transmission, multifunction steering wheel with cruise control Harman Kardon hi-fi speaker system, among other things. Model-specific John Cooper Works accessories are also available.
