With the production date of the next generation Prius reportedly pushed back to December of 2015, Toyota wants to keep the current model in front of consumers’ minds with a new special edition.
Scheduled to go on sale in the States this September, the 2015 Prius Persona Series Special Edition adds some exterior appointments and equipment features over the Prius Three trim level.
In particular, the special edition is offered in two exterior colors, the $395 Blizzard Pearl, and for the first time on the current Prius, Absolutely Red, with other exterior goods including 17-inch wheels in a dark metallic finish, a “Persona Series” badge on the tailgate and heated power mirrors with turning signals.
On the inside, the seats and the steering wheel are trimmed in a black “SofTex” material with gray stitching, while dark chrome trim is used on the steering wheel, shift knob ring and door grips. The Persona Series model also gets blue-colored driver and front-passenger foot area illumination.
The special edition has a MSRP of $26,985, not including a delivery, processing and handling (DPH) fee of $825, or about $1,200 more than the Prius Three.
