BMW‘s baby version of the X6, the new X4, is on sale in the UK priced from £36,590 OTR for a base xDrive20d SE model that draws power from a 187bhp (190PS) 2.0-liter turbo diesel, good for 54.3mpg UK with CO2 emission of 138g/km when paired to the optional 8-speed automatic.
Actually, UK buyers only get diesel engine options, with the other two available X4s being the xDrive30d sporting a 255bhp (258PS) 3.0-liter straight-six that returns a combined economy of 47.9 mpg UK and 156 g/km CO2, and the xDrive35d M with a 309bhp (313PS) 3.0L inline six that posts a fuel consumption of 47.1mpg UK and emits 157g/km CO2.
The two six-cylinder diesel models are offered with a standard 8-speed automatic, while the four-cylinder X4, with a standard six-speed manual gearbox.
BMW says that all X4s offer better levels of equipment over the X3, with standard features across the range including, automatically opening tailgate, Variable Sport Steering, 18-inch alloys, front and rear Park Distance Control, Performance Control, Xenon headlights, sport leather steering wheel, heated front seats and Business Media package.
An additional £1,500 gets you the xLine trim level with unique 18-inch light-alloy wheel, Satin Aluminium exterior trim, Dark Copper interior trim, Sport seats and bespoke xLine leather upholstery.
For an extra £3,000 over the SE, you can get the M Sport trim that dresses the X4 in an aero kit, High-gloss Shadow Line trim exterior trim, exclusive 19-inch rims, door sill finishers, sport seats and an Aluminium Hexagon interior trim, while also adding a sports suspension.
