Now that BMW no longer makes a great handling coupe powered by a naturally-aspirated V8 engine, we’re glad that Lexus has stepped in and filled the void with its interpretation of the formula: the all-new RC F.

The car features a 5.0-liter V8 with 450 hp that is delivered instantly to the rear wheels via an eight-speed gearbox. Performance is aided by a multitude of additional elements (most of which are made out of carbon fiber), like the roof, hood or the pop-up rear wing.

However, ignoring the technical aspects for a second, the RC F really looks like a properly mean, planted sports car, as it goes up the Goodwood hillclimb course, in the official video posted after the virtual jump. If anything, it beats the M4 for butch-factor, though, some may call it garish and still prefer the smoother BMW

The idea that Lexus wants to push with this RC F is that it’s a mini-LFA, even though it really isn’t – it’s like Saab marketing their cars using planes with which it only shared minimal detailing work…
