The first thing that strikes you about the BMW i8 is the way it looks. It’s really the kind of car you expect at any second to transform into a humanoid-like robot and shoot laser beams. In fact, the laser emitters are on display even when it’s not transformed, neatly hidden at the back of the car, used as rear lights.
CarThrottle loved the i8 not only for its sharp exterior look that is at least a decade ahead of most new cars on the road, if not more, but also for the driving experience it offers and… the get out of my way-style horn it had.
They called it a sexy, superhuman hybrid, as well as a Porsche 911 eater, though, to be fair, it would only be a performance match to base 911s, since it’s got less power than even the base Carrera.
