VW has popped open the order books for the refreshed Scirocco in the UK prior to first deliveries in October, with prices ranging from at £20,455 (OTR) for the entry-level 1.4-litre TSI 123hp / 125PS manual to £33,795 for the performance 2.0-litre TSI 276hp / 280PS Scirocco R.
If you can’t really identify the updates on the outside, that’s because they’re limited to the tweaked headlights and LED taillights, revised bumper styling and five new colors along with fresh alloy wheel designs.
Interior updates include new dials, different vents and a retro-style auxiliary instrument cluster above the center console with chronometer, charge pressure and oil temperature gauges.
Finally, the Germans made revisions under the bonnet, with the Scirocco gaining more potent yet more fuel efficient engines, all of which meet EU6 emissions standards and return between 67.3 and 35.3 mpg UK.
Four petrol units are on offer, including the 1.4-liter TSI with 125PS / 123bhp (+3hp), two 2.0-liter TSIs delivering 180PS / 178bhp (+20hp) and 220PS / 217bhp (+10hp), and the range-topping 2.0-liter TSI with 280PS / 276hp (+15hp) for the Scirocco R. A pair of 2.0-liter TDI diesels rated at 150PS / 148bhp (+10hp) and 184PS / 181hp (+7hp) complete the lineup.
In the UK, the refreshed Scirocco will be available in four trim levels, base, GT, R-Line and the R.
