This 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint almost looks as if it has just left the factory gates. It’s hard to find a flaw in the Bertone-designed body, both in terms of styling and its present state.
The seller says the car is rust free, having spent most of its life in sunny California – the black license plate surely supports this statement.
The car was originally sold in France and imported to California in the late 1960s by its original owner. Built at the end of the Giulietta model line alongside the new Giulia line, the coupe features options from the newer model including front disc brakes, a five-speed transmission and special high lift cams.
Additionally, further owners added a series of modifications (mostly technical), including twin Weber DCOE carburetors, Mondial kit with moly pistons and rings, Veloce exhaust manifold and others. All these modifications resulted in an output rating a dyno rating exceeding 112 hp. Other changes include a custom rectangular steering wheel, electronic assisted ignition and oil pressure relief from the pump.
If you noticed the roll cage in the photos, that’s because the car was converted between 1999 and 2001 for racing in historical venues as a group FP-1. The Giulietta Sprint has almost 61,000 miles (98,170 km) on the odometer and was listed on eBay with a $46,500 “Buy It Now” price, but didn’t end up selling.
