Did you think Bugatti would stop releasing special edition Veyron models after the final Legend dedicated to Ettore Bugatti that was unveiled at Pebble Beach?
I did, but guess what; there are still some 15 Veyrons Bugatti needs to sell before launching an all-new model, so what’s a new special edition on top of the dozens already released?
The latest special edition Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse is called “1 of 1” and is unique, as the name suggests. Commissioned by a customer from Singapore, the “1 of 1” takes inspiration from the brand’s historical designs and vehicles. The car sports an exclusive black and yellow paint scheme on its carbon-fiber body, which is a tribute to the historical Bugatti family colors.
The Bugatti horseshoe on the front grille is yellow on the front part, while the inner section is black, with “1 of 1” marking the first time Bugatti has specially designed the radiator grille at a customer’s request. The traditional expanded mesh grille was replaced with a grille in which the customer’s initials, “PL”, were laser cut. I wonder how much this option cost…
The brand logo, known as the Bugatti “macaron”, is displayed not only on the customized grille but on the underside of the rear wing when it extends at 180 km/h (112 mph). The macaron is also present inside the car, embroidered in yellow in the black head rests. Among the cabin’s unique features there’s a sketch of a shining yellow Bugatti Type 35, the most successful racing car ever and one of the brand’s most symbolic models.
The customer of this car obviously has a…big ego, as he commissioned Bugatti designers to create his portrait and engrave it together with his name in the door sill trim. No details were given about the car’s price, but I imagine it was way more expensive than the average net price of €2 million ($2.64 million) Bugatti vehicles usually sell for.
