The facelifted VW Polo may look the same as before, but there are some changes under the bodywork aimed at making it more refined and capable.

What Car tested a Polo fitted with the 1.2-liter petrol engine with 89hp (90PS) and deemed it more appropriate for both city and motorway driving than lower-powered 1.0-liter units. However, it is not exactly a fun to drive car, with the Ford Fiesta faring better from this point of view.

The Polo is praised for its low noise levels in the cabin and for the new 6.5-inch touchscreen that is described as responsive and quick.Still, not all is good inside. The rear seats are seen as offering smaller legroom than the Polo’s competitors, while the boot volume (280 liters) is average at best.
