Following two sets of sketches showing the exterior and interior of the third-generation Sorento, Kia has published the first official photos of its new SUV.
Shown here in EU-spec, the design of the all-new Sorento is not far at all from how our artist Josh Byrnes imagined it last month. The new model is an evolution of the current generation Sorento, featuring a similar profile but a bigger, redesigned grille, as well as different headlights, taillights and fog lights.
Kia says the new Sorento features visual elements inspired by the Cross GT concept vehicle that debuted at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, including the long bonnet and the distinctive treatment of the wide D-pillars.
The new Sorento is longer, lower and wider than the current model, while also featuring an extended wheelbase. That should translate into a more spacious cabin and improved boot volume. Additionally, Kia says the all-new Sorento features a series of innovative technologies, but doesn’t elaborate.
Expect more details about the all-new Sorento as we get closer to its Paris Auto Show debut.
