In yet another twist in Saab’s…twisted survival story, one of its suppliers petitioned a Swedish court to declare the brand’s new owner, National Electric Vehicle of Sweden (NEVS), bankrupt.
According to a report from the AP / ABC News, subcontractor LaboTest AB, which supplies the automaker with test equipment for car components, submitted a petition to the District Court on Tuesday, August 12, after NEVS allegedly failed to pay bills of 150,000 kronor ($21,800 / €16,300).
Sweden’s Teknikensvarld added that the district court decided that bankruptcy proceedings will be held on September 8.
NEVS, the Hong Kong-based company that bought Saab out of bankruptcy last year, has been struggling financially to get the Swedish brand on its feet, with recent rumors claiming that it’s looking for a partner.
