US tuning specialist ARK Performance has released the first details about its Genesis AR550 sedan that will debut at the 2014 SEMA show with performance and styling upgrades.

For its sixth Hyundai vehicle built for SEMA, ARK Performance wanted to make it a rival for performance sedans like the Mercedes E 63 AMG and BMW M5. In order to do that, the 2015 Hyundai Genesis’ 5.0-liter V8 engine has received a 130hp upgrade thanks to the addition of a Rotrex supercharger and an ARK free-flow exhaust. As a result, the Genesis AR550 produces 550 hp.

The car also received an all-new ARK-developed lower suspension setup that is said to reduce body roll and provide a sportier ride, as well as a Brembo Big Brake Kit with Nitto Tires for improved stopping power and grip.

As you can see from the photos, significant changes have been made to the car’s appearance as well, with the “AR Line” exterior modifications including front and rear wide bumpers and fenders to accommodate larger wheels, a carbon fiber splitter and rear diffuser and AR headlights. Inside, ARK Performance says the Genesis AR550 features “a business jet-like interior” thanks to the Katzkin custom diamond-stitched seats and door panels.
