Cadillac has announced a series of updates for its 2015 lineup for Europe, with the main additions being the ATS Coupe and Escalade, scheduled to launch before the end of this year.
The luxury carmaker said its 2015 car lineup will feature the new Cadillac crest, with other updates being the availability of cordless charging, as well as more power and safety updated for the ATS.
The all-new Cadillac ATS Coupe will be launched in Europe in October and will be the first to feature the new Cadillac crest. As of the new model year, the crest will also be featured on the ATS and CTS sedans and the Escalade SUV.
The ATS Coupe will be available in Europe with the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 276PS (272hp) between 3,000 to 4,600 rpm and 400Nm (295lb-ft), 90 percent of which is available between 2,100-3,000 rpm. Cadillac didn’t say anything about a diesel variant, but such a model would definitely attract customers in Europe.
Standard features of the ATS Coupe include Brembo performance front brakes, sport alloy pedals, a thick rim sport steering wheel with magnesium paddle shifters, as well as the CUE infotainment system with an 8-inch LCD multi-touch sensitive screen.
Another new model for Europe is the fourth-generation Escalade SUV, which goes on sale toward the end of 2014. For the first time, the Escalade will be available in Europe as an extended-length version (ESV).
The Euro-spec Escalade will be offered exclusively with an AWD drivetrain consisting of the new 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 420hp and 460lb-ft (623Nm) of torque. The Escalade comes equipped as standard with the Magnetic Ride Control suspension system and the CUE infotainment system.
Cadillac’s 2015 model range for Europe also debuts the Powermat wireless charging of smartphones. Following its introduction into the 2015 ATS, wireless charging technology will be added to the CTS premium sedan and the Escalade SUV.
