GM keeps on rolling out special editions of the Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, with the latest one being dedicated to the University of Texas Longhorns football team.
Released earlier this month to coincide with the start of The University of Texas Longhorns football season, the special-edition University of Texas Longhorns Silverado features a Sunset Orange Metallic exterior paint, special University of Texas graphics on the pickup bed and tailgate, as well as chrome side steps.
Additional features and content on the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado UT Special Edition include 2WD or 4WD Double Cab LT or LTZ Trim with Texas Edition package configurations, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, body color mirror and door handles and Texas Edition badge (on LT), 20-inch chrome wheels, chrome mirrors and door handles and Texas Edition badge (on LTZ) and spray-in bed liner.
The University of Texas edition package goes on sale next month not just in Texas, but nationwide, with a suggested retail price of $795. The UT Edition can be ordered by customers purchasing a Silverado Double Cab in LT or LTZ trim, or a Crew Cab in LTZ trim, with the Texas Edition package.
“The special-edition Silverado is a natural fit for Chevrolet in Texas, where a Longhorn fan lives in one out of every three households, and those fans are almost twice as likely as average consumers to buy a truck,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet director of Truck Marketing. “There is no more appropriate place to showcase the stronger, smarter, more capable Chevrolet Silverado than in the heart of truck country,” he added.
