We’ve covered everything there was to cover about the 2015 Mustang, but if there’s one thing missing, it’s the reviews of Ford’s latest pony car. However, Ford has just begun handing over Mustangs to the press and Consumer Reports was one of the first outlets to get hold of one.

Jake Fisher’s first impressions of the 2015 Mustang were quite positive after driving a model powered by the 310hp 2.3-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine. The unit is described as modern and lacking turbo lag, with the reviewer recommending the six-speed manual transmission over the six-speed auto. The same gearbox is recommended for the V8-powered Mustang too, the model that hardcore nameplate aficionados will go for.

The new Mustang remains a car that one could live with every day, even more than before as it has gained in refinement.

Finally, ride and handling are described as better than the previous model’s, thanks to the new independent rear suspension. Scroll down for the review and the latest episode of “Talking Cars with Consumer Reports”, also dedicated to the Mustang.
