Back in July, we reported on a rumor about Fiat Group Automobiles teaming up with Mitsubishi to add a pickup truck in their lineup back, and now it’s official.

On Friday, Fiat-Chrysler and Mitsubishi Motors said they signed a “non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concerning the possibility to develop and manufacture a mid-size pick-up truck, supplied by Mitsubishi and based on the next generation of L200.”

No further details were provided, but in May, Fiat released its five-year product plan in which it mentioned the addition of a new pickup truck for the European and Latin American markets in 2016.

Mitsubishi itself revealed a concept hinting at the next generation L200 with the GR-HEV during last year’s Geneva Motor Show.

Fiat and Mitsubishi recently signed an agreement to supply the former’s Attrage sedan to Chrysler for Mexico.
