The all-new Hyundai i20 supermini, which will debut at the Paris Auto Show next month, will receive a three-door version as well, called the i20 Coupe.
Hyundai says the new model will combine “fun driving, a distinctive character and sporty refinement,” while also offering the practicality and quality of its five-door sibling. As the teaser rendering reveals, the three-door version of the i20 features a coupe-style sharply raked rear pillar and a roof spoiler for a sportier look, as well as a powerful stance.
The rear also features a wrap-around window and a different treatment for the lamp clusters. Hyundai also offered an i20 three-door on the previous generation, but this time, the differentiation between the new i20 Coupe and the i20 five-door appears to be a lot stronger, with the three door model targeting customers who want their supermini to look and feel sportier.
Furthermore, a hot-hatch version of the i20 Coupe should be a no-brainer as well – very likely with the brand’s new “N” performance badge.
Hyundai says the i20 Coupe was designed and developed at its European design center in Rüsselsheim, Germany, just like the five-door model. The automaker will offer more details about the new generation i20 family ahead of its world premiere at the Paris Auto Show in the coming weeks.
