While Asian markets got an all-new NP300 Navara pickup truck earlier this year, Europe soldiers on with the old model, which has received content updates for 2015.
The Nissan Navara obtains new safety features, new standard equipment, an upgraded interior trim and two new metallic body colors – bronze and grey. Furthermore, every model in the Navara range now has standard 17-inch alloy wheels and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system.
New interior trim has been added to the SE and LE versions, which are said to offer and improved look and feel and enhanced quality. Also new for 2015 is the introduction of an SE model powered by a 144PS (142hp) version of the 2.5-liter dCi diesel engine.
First seen in the fleet-oriented XE version launched last year, the engine emits less CO2 than the 190PS (187hp) version (215g/km versus 222 g/km), while the combined fuel economy is 8.2l/100 km (28.7 mpg US). The SE grade brings additional equipment over the XE model, including automatic air conditioning, a combined CD tuner with Bluetooth connectivity, side airbags, chrome front grille, cruise control with speed limiter and driver seat height adjustment. Other standard features are remote central locking, front fog lamps, side steps, rear headrests and heated door mirrors.
XE, SE and top LE grades are all available with the 190PS version of the dCi engine, while the range-topping LE models are also available with the 231PS (228hp) 3.0-liter V6 diesel, mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox. There’s also a Special Version of the LE V6 which gets leather/alcantara trim, 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome touches and a steel bar at the front for added protection.
As for the new generation model, it is uncertain when it will arrive in Europe.
