Only a couple of months after Porsche launched the new 991 Targa onto the market, Stuttgart is already out and about testing a facelifted version of the car.
We probably won’t see it in Porsche showrooms for another year, possibly even not before 2016, but that’s one very short lifespan, whichever way you put it.
The Targa edition of the refreshed 991 series, rumored to be codenamed 992, will have the same trick roof as the current model, benefitting from a raft of changes that Porsche is preparing for the entire range.
These include cosmetic revisions on the outside, such as the new door handles, bumpers and re-styled lights on both ends of the car, plus tech updates on the inside.
We also hear from sources that the new 911 Targa could get a GTS edition with an uprated boxer engine delivering around 430 horses, and styling changes including different bumpers and a twin pipes positioned near the center of the rear diffuser.
