In a bizarre incident, police in a Massachusetts town are investigating the break-in of three dozen vehicles that resulted in 35 stolen airbags from a Honda dealer.
The Daily Hampshire Gazette reports 35 airbags were stolen out of the steering wheels of cars late Monday or early Tuesday at Lia Honda in Northampton, Mass. One additional vehicle was broken into. Damage is estimated to be between $1,000 and $2,000 per car.
Northampton Police said airbag thefts aren’t unheard of, but the amount in one area is definitely out of the norm.
Michael Lia, co-owner of the dealership, told the paper, “Hopefully police will find out who did this because it’s ridiculous.”
Ridiculous, indeed.
