Video footage of an audacious Brazilian military policeman leaping in front of a speeding Mini Cooper that had been stolen is making the viral rounds in the country.

Carscoops reader Evandil F. reports: “This story happened in São Paulo last week, when a cop was hit while trying to intercept a stolen car. He suffered only minor injuries and thieves were captured since the cop had shot the car’s radiator forcing them to stop few minutes later.”

If you look closely, the soldier, Felipe Costa e Silva, 25, first shot the car and then made a lightning fast leap, a move that most certainly saved his life. Amazingly, we see him get up all by himself in the footage sourced from a nearby security camera.

The perpetrators, aged 26 and 19, were apprehended and changed with vehicle theft and attempted murder.

H/T to Evandil!
