First, it was South Park and now, Jim Carrey has parodied Matthew McConaughey’s melodramatic Lincoln ads as well during his Saturday Night Live (SNL) hosting gig.
“Sometimes you gotta go back to actually move forward,” says Carrey with a McConaughey Texas accent. “And I don’t mean go back and reminisce, chase ghosts, I mean take a BIG step back, like go from winning an Oscar to doing a car commercial. My agent was like, ‘I can understand if you did this right after The Lincoln Lawyer. That would’ve made sense’.”
Perhaps one of the most humorous parts of the ad is when Carrey plays around with his fingers like McConaughey and says: “When I’m done rolling up this booger shot, should I eat it or throw it out the window? Feels good…like a tiny little tennis ball.”
Lincoln just can’t seem to get a break, from its design misadventures to the much-hyped marketing effort with Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey, whatever it does, it ends up going sour…
