Lamborghini Gallardo’s successor, the Huracán LP610-4, is doing really well as far as sales are concerned, racking up 3,000 global sales in the past 10 months. Of the total number, 1,000 units have been sold to customers in the United States.

The results are impressive for Lamborghini, which sold 2,121 cars last year (all models included).

The success of the Huracán is driving the brand’s sales to an all-time record year, with the company looking set to reach 3,600 total sales in 2014. According to Lamborghini, this year’s sales results are not only due to the products themselves, the Huracán and the Aventador, but also to marketing.

“In the Americas we worked together with our dealer partners to outline their launch outreach strategy from a new perspective. How to make their events and communications bold yet welcoming. As a result, we are watching a success story unfold. As the Huracán arrives in-market, consumers are anxiously waiting to experience this vehicle which is a direct result of these targeted events,” said Lamborghini’s COO Alessandro Farmeschi in a statement.

As things stand right now, the Huracán has the potential to dethrone the Gallardo as the best-selling Lamborghini of all times. In ten years on the market, the Gallardo racked up 14,022 sales. With 3,000 sales in 10 months, the Huracán may need far less than 10 years to beat the record.
