As Nissan is an global partner of the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games that will be held in Rio de Janeiro, the Japanese automaker is paying homage to the event with the March Rio 2016 Edition.

Unveiled at the Sao Paulo Auto Show alongside the Kicks Concept, the special vehicle was designed by Nissan Design America Rio (NDA-R) studio which opened this year in Rio de Janeiro. The automaker says the March Rio 2016 Edition is a design exercise, with no information about a possible production version being offered.

The car features special details including the white and gold paint scheme, with the color of the most precious Olympic medal being featured on the mirrors, side skirts, wheels, spoiler and roof. Inside, the March Rio 2016 Edition features gold colored seat seams, air vents, steering wheel and dashboard.

The color is also a reference to the official logo of the Rio 2016 Games, as well as the sun and heat, which are features of Brazil. The logo of the 2016 Olympics is featured on the car’s fenders in the trunk lid.

Based on the locally-built Nissan March (marketed as the Micra in Europe and other markets), the study is powered by a 1.6-liter 16V FlexFuel engine which produces 111 horsepower and can run on either gasoline or ethanol.
