It’s irritating when manufacturers launch a new special edition model and after you’ve peeled away the stickers and extra badges, you’re left with a basic car. That’s not what Peugeot did with the 208 GTi 30th Anniversary edition – it’s a special model with actual extra muscle.
They’ll even sell it to you in that slightly mad matte black and gloss red two tone finish. Riding on matte black wheels the only bit of red you get to see on the front part are the Brembo calipers (and the grille insert).
The two-tone paint looks even more striking in the live photos posted below straight from Paris. Not going through photo editing before reaching the web, these photos really emphasize the difference between the shiny rear and flat front.
It somehow works better than the reverse formula used on the 308 R concept. If you hate it, though, it can be had in solid colors too.
