Audi’s concept car that will be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in a few days is really important for the brand, as it previews Audi’s future design language.

The first official design sketches of the concept, which is said to carry the Prologue name, have been published by Germany’s Auto Bild. Surprisingly, the study is a full-size two-door luxury coupe, with the report advancing a length of 5.10 meters (200.7in).

Initially, the concept car was said to preview a future A9 four-door luxury coupe, but we’re not so sure now, as a two-door Audi A9 would be a logical rival for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe. Judging from the sketches, the Prologue concept features a flattened single-frame grille, slim headlights and bulged rear wheel arches that convey strength. The taillights are even slimmer than the headlights and are connected by a thin LED bar.

Stay tuned for more details about the Audi Prologue concept as we get closer to its debut at the LA Auto Show early next week.
