Now in their second generation, BMW’s brand new 2015 X5M and X6M SUVs are making their world premiere at the LA Auto Show this week.
Without breaking the mold set by their predecessors, the two high-performance SUVs get incremental improvements.
These include a little bit more power from the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that now delivers 575PS (567hp) and is connected to an 8-speed instead of a 6-speed automatic pushing both to 60mph in 4.0 seconds and on to a restricted top speed of 155mph (250km/h).
One thing that hasn’t improved a bit is BMW‘s asking price of $99,650 for the more spacious X5M and $103,050 for the more stylish (at the expense of your rear passenger heads and luggage compartment) X6M, including a $950 destination fee.
