Hyundai has released pricing and is accepting orders for the all-new i20 hatchback in Britain, before it arrives in showrooms in January 2015.
Revealed at the Paris Auto Show in October, Hyundai’s new hatch has the Ford Fiesta, Vauxhall Corsa, VW Polo and other popular superminis in its sights.
Available exclusively as a five-door model, though, a three door will join the range later, the i20 starts from £10,695 OTR.
Measuring 4,035mm long, 1,474mm high and 1,734mm wide, the new model is 40mm longer, 16mm lower and 24mm wider than before.
It can be had with a choice of engines, including a 1.25-liter petrol with 74hp (75PS) and 83hp (84PS), a 99hp (100PS) 1.4-liter petrol, a 74hp (75PS) 1.1-liter diesel and an 89hp (90PS) 1.4-liter diesel.
Buyers can choose from six trim levels starting with the entry “S” that has electric front windows, remote central locking, tinted windows and RDS radio with USB, and the “S Air” that benefits from manual air conditioning.
The “S Blue” adds Intelligent Stop and Go (ISG) and low rolling resistance tyres, while the “SE” gets numerous additions including 16″ alloys, voice activated Bluetooth, Cruise Control with speed limiter, front fog lights, Lane Departure Warning System, rear electric windows and reversing sensors.
Further up the range, the “Premium” adds Smartphone Docking Station, automatic dimming rearview mirror, automatic headlights and wipers, Climate control, cornering lights, LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights, projection headlamps and privacy glass.
Finally, the “Premium SE” gets front parking sensors, heated front seats and steering wheel and opening panoramic glass sunroof.
