It’s the Green Hell, the Mecca of motoring enthusiasts all over the world, the field where car makers hone their cars and boast about lap times.
Yet the Nürburgring track apparently has serious financial trouble – hence its reported sale for the second time this year.
You might recall that nine months ago the Nordschleife, which had remained without an owner for two years, was acquired by the German auto parts manufacturer Capricorn, which paid €77 million (USD$96 million) for the operating rights to the ‘Ring.
Now, however, Wirtschafts Woche reports that Capricorn may have sold its share to NH Holding, which is owned by the 41-year-old Viktor Kharitonin. The Russian Russian pharmaceuticals billionaire ranks, according to Forbes, in place 1,342 among the richest men in the world.
