There’s been a lot of debate in the motoring press, let alone car enthusiasts, which of the three recently launched hypercars is the best: the Ferrari LaFerrari, the McLaren P1 or the Porsche 918 Spyder.
The argument is probably moot as all three are exhilarating drives with extravagant styling and, being hybrids, more eco-friendly than your average mid-size saloon. Well, that’s at least what their makers claim anyway.
If your weapon of choice is the 918 Spyder and want a factory fresh example (used ones will trickle in the market, probably with a premium) then you’d better hurry up as the well is drying up.
“We are close to the finish line”, Porsche sales chief Bernhard Maier told Reuters last Monday, indicating that the 918-strong inventory will be sold by December, largely due of the hypercar’s great popularity in the US.
Maier added that only a small double-digit number of the €947,716 (US$1,180,000), if you tick all the options, 918 is still available.
