The first question one should ask about the Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy is not how quick it is, but how hard the suspension feels on bumpy roads.

That’s because the Megane RS 275 Trophy is closely related to the Megane RS 275 Trophy-R, the car that set the Nürburgring lap record (7m54.36s) for front-wheel drive production cars this summer.

Obviously, it is fast, but the ride around town and on poor roads is the compromise the owner has to make. As XCAR’s Alex Goy discovered while reviewing the Megane RS 275 Trophy, it’s not a very comfortable car and the passengers feel every bump in the road.

But this car is not for those who want to have a comfortable ride, it’s for drivers who want to feel connected to the road, to be at one with the car. In this respect, the Megane RS 275 Trophy doesn’t disappoint, even if it is a bit “softened” compared to the R version that set the Nürburgring lap record. Scroll down to watch the review.
